I Got a Guy started with a simple observation: the best contractors never advertise. They're passed neighbor to neighbor, friend to friend — "oh, I got a guy for that." We built the platform around that referral, not around ads. Pros earn their place by doing good work and by vouching for other pros they'd put their own name behind.

What makes us different: when a pro recommends another pro here, their reputation rides on it. Good recommendations earn credits and lower fees; bad ones cost standing. The result is a trust network you can actually see — every profile shows who vouches for whom, backed by real jobs they've done together.

How we keep both sides honest.

  • ✓Verified identity on both sides. Pros verify license, insurance, and identity; homeowners verify phone and email before posting.
  • ✓Pay after the work, not before. You're only asked to pay once your pro marks the job finished — never cash-in-advance to a stranger, and always through our payment processor.
  • ✓Reviews only from real jobs. You can only review a job that actually happened on the platform. No bought reviews, no drive-bys.
  • ✓Recommendations with skin in the game. Pros lose standing and referral credits when a pro they vouched for underperforms.
